A press release can really help gain exposure for your business and you. If you haven’t written your first press release – let’s get started.
There are several questions you want to think about when writing your first or even your tenth, press release. Matter-of-fact, I reached out to Cindy Bidar and asked her – what questions would you ask to write a press release for a client about their business… This is what she responded with:
Who is your audience? (Please be as specific as possible.)
What is newsworthy about your business right now? (What’s prompting you to submit a press release?)
What keywords are you targeting? (If you know.)
Tell me a little about you, personally, and about your business. (Your experience, how long the business has been in existence, how it evolved, and any personal info that is relevant.)
Contact information to include in the press release.
Cindy went right to the point and detailed out what is needed to have a press release that focuses on what is important for your business and what is prompting you for the press release.
