StaciJansma.com completed a donation to March of Dimes!

Feels great to help out a charity like MarchOfDimes.com.

At the beginning of March I agreed to make a donation to MarchOfDimes and happy to report that donation was completed  today. I was looking to have others help me to donate but up until this point – I have not had anyone reach out to me. So I took it upon myself to make a donation from my family to MarchOfDimes.

Here is the email message I received from March Of Dimes…

Subject: Thank you for your donation.

Dear Staci,

Thank you for your donation of $100.00. Your generous support of the March of Dimes has:

-           helped 3.3 million uninsured children get health insurance
-           enabled more women to receive prenatal care
-           and helped educate pregnant women about the benefits of taking folic acid – which may help spare their unborn babies from neural tube birth defects.

In short, hundreds of thousands of babies have been saved from low birthweight, birth defects, and even untimely death – because people like you cared enough to give to the March of Dimes.

Each time you read that our nation’s infant mortality rate is at an all-time low or that groundbreaking research is helping women deliver healthier babies, I hope you give yourself a pat on the back.

Because gifts like yours help the March of Dimes make these and other vital advances possible.

Your ongoing support will help fund lifesaving programs that educate, advocate and investigate – all in an effort to save America’s babies from prematurity, birth defects and other threats to their health.

On behalf of our nation’s babies, and their loving parents, I thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Dr. Jennifer L. Howse

As a mom of 2 children: I know that if your child is born early, a “preemie baby” – your options can be very stressful and unsure what will happen until it does. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and 2 days.

She was under 5 lbs. and was in the NICU for 2 weeks after she was born. Luckily, she was born very healthy and didn’t require many machines or special equipment. She needed some time to grow and develop and the NICU helped to provide that to her since she had to be delivered due to pregnancy induced health condition.

“A little help can help a little life!”

…a quote from my husband. We have been through a lot to have both of our little ones here but enjoy every moment that we can.

Please take a few minutes today and donate an amount of your choice.
You can click donate within this post or visit our Squidoo Lens that my husband created last night. :)

Thanks again for your support.
Every little bit truly helps!

P.S. Our main purpose for this is to help others. Our daughter turned 3 in February and our son just turned 1 yesterday. As we thought about their first day of life – we wanted to try to reach out and help others. Any money donated through the PayPal donate button above to MarchOfDimesDonateToday[at]gmail.com will be sent to MarchOfDimes at the end of every month, starting with March 31, 2010.
