I have been reading and listening to what you need to disclose and what you must change or add on your website. The idea behind this is good for both the consumers and the business owners. What the FTC is trying to get across is be HONEST, and TELL your consumers what they are clicking on. If it is a affiliate link – then tell them that you will earn commission if they click on the link. I am more than happy to tell you if you will be clicking on an affiliate link, because if the product or service does not work out for you - I WANT you to tell me – what did not work for you.
I have found several resources that could help you to: (each of these options are available and no affiliate links are related)
- Jim Edwards interview (with Rich from FTC)
- Google search “FTC Guidelines” you will find lots of information right at your fingertips
- FTC Issues – New Rules PDF (received this from my helpful source!)
- Mike Young Law | Internet Lawyer (this is not an affiliate link – but something I was looking at getting for my site – thought I would share this with you.)
Click for my current “I DISCLOSE” agreement!
What have you done for your website(s)? Where did you get your policy? Did you use any resources – oh please share!
Have a great day!
