Gmail Privacy: Are You Giving Away Your Business Plans to Google? from MikeYoungLaw.com

I signed up for MikeYoungLaw.com mailing list a few months back and he just sent out a interesting email message that included a link to his recent post. I want to share this with you and let me know what you think about it.

Actual post is here: Gmail Privacy: Are You Giving Away Your Business Plans to Google?

My thoughts on this post: First reaction is yes I have seen this too. Seems like everything we do Google is trying to customize it to your local area. What is funny is when I see ads that mention see what’s in “Lakefield, MN” and it’s a real estate ad or “Worthington, MN”. Yes that is my local area but honestly the ads are present just like any other website – so should we be worried?

Mike went on to mention: “If Google is willing to sniff through your e-mail to target advertising, what is it willing to do when it comes to your business ideas that you’re communicating back and forth daily by e-mail?”

Mike does bring up a very interesting point. So, what do you think?
