Are you wanting to move your site to a new domain? It’s as easy as 1-2-3 with BackupBuddy!

1. Get Backup Buddy to help with the migration process of the site.

2. Follow this process for the 301 permanent redirects:

Redirect Old domain to New domain (htaccess redirect)

Create a .htaccess file with the below code, it will ensure that all your directories and pages of your old domain will get correctly redirected to your new domain.
The .htaccess file needs to be placed in the root directory of your old website (i.e the same directory where your index file is placed)

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Please REPLACE www.newdomain.com in the above code with your actual domain name.

In addition to the redirect I would suggest that you contact every backlinking site to modify their backlink to point to your new website.

Note* This .htaccess method of redirection works ONLY on Linux servers having the Apache Mod-Rewrite moduled enabled.

3. All done!

I’ve Been Nominated for 2012 Tastiest Brand Small Biz

What an honor. Just found out I was nominated for 2012 Tastiest Brand Small Biz by Sara Duggan:

Jansma, Staci – http://stacijansma.com/

Sara says:
December 30, 2011 at 12:25 am

I enjoy so many small businesses it is difficult for me to choose just one. To narrow down my choices I will concentrate only on the ones I really benefited from in 2011.
I’ll nominate 4 businesses :

1. Staci Jansma http://stacijansma.com/ I met Staci in a forum and she has helped me on numerous occasions with tech stuff in regards to WordPress. I had the opportunity to hire her this month and she is just a great person to work with plus she is timely.

2. Syrendell http://www.syrendell.com This business is owned by husband and wife team Rick and Jennifer Tan. When you take a course from them it is like being with an old friend or family member. Very detailed instruction and you can tell they love what they do.

3. Michelle Shaeffer at http://michelleshaeffer.com/ I’ve known Michelle since meeting her on a mothering forum back in 2001. She started out doing webdesign and graphic design and has built a significant business for herself. [and her family] She loves what she does and enjoys teaching others. She’s done a number of projects for me and her customer service skills are top notch.

4. Kelly McCaussey at http://solosmarts.com Kelly has been around the wahm world for a while and it was in 2010 that I really started following her blog. I’ve learned so much from her and can’t recommend her enough to those seeking to really get past the ‘yuck’ out there to the real valuable stuff that will enable a mom to stay at home and earn an income.

Like I said it’s so hard to pick but these four really made an impression on me in 2011.

Thank you again Sara for the nomination.

Get FanPageEngine to help design, create Fan Pages that work for you (and your business)!

Looking to create your own fan pages? FanPager creators – I received this msg through the service I use called Fan Page Engine

Hi Hubzer’s

I just wanted to post a link to Facebooks page on FBML. Facebook has announced that they will be getting rid of FBML and will no longer support it starting on Jan 1st 2012. Please rebuild your fbml pages in the new Fan Page Engine system asap. As of June 1st 2012 your old FBML pages may no longer work.

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/fbml/

Just moved 11 FBML pages to iframe and have 4 left pending client’s request. So it is definitely a job to move them even if they will be the same setup – just get on this now before you lose what you have. FanPageEngine is closing it off January 1st – so that does put some urgency on this for me (and the client’s fan pages – luckily they are almost all switched). So I had to share this with you too.
